the fourteenth 100-yard game of Murray's career

With a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter, DeMarco Murray became the first runner in NFL history to open a season with seven consecutive 100-yard games.

Previously, Hall of Famer Jim Brown opened the 1958 season with six consecutive 100-yard games for the Cleveland Browns.

Murray came into Sunday's game against the New York Giants on track to more than 2,000 meters and 424 carries, which would be a record for a season.

However, given his injury history, the Cowboys have spoken to limit some of their workload. He missed 11 games in his first three seasons in the ankle, knee and foot injuries. He appeared to hurt his right ankle in a 21-yard gain late in the second quarter and did not appear in the final series of the first half Cowboys.

Murray leads the NFL in rushing, and trying to become the first cowboy to lead the league in rushing since Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, who had 1,773 yards in 1995, Smith had 812 yards in the first seven games season.
